Finance QuizzAR

Created an application to help students with ADHD learn utilizing an interactive game. Utilized a Leap Motion Sensor to track hand movements in Unity. Won education track & best financial hack.

Inspiration

Our personal connection to this project arose when we witnessed a friend, who has ADHD, facing difficulties in understanding personal finance and investment terminology. Children with ADHD often experience challenges with concentration, making it harder for them to learn. Research has shown that interactive games can enhance the concentration and attention span of children with ADHD, facilitating their learning journey. Motivated by this, we have taken it upon ourselves to develop an affordable application that can be used on a smartphone along with Google Cardboard.

Challenges

In the beginning, our efforts were directed towards incorporating this idea into an augmented reality (AR) experience. However, encountering difficulties in effectively managing anchor points led us to shift our focus towards developing a prototype virtual reality (VR) application. Additionally, we faced challenges with the precise execution of hand gestures and controlling the ball, as the sensitivity of the initial hand motion and ball-grabbing physics was quite high. To address this issue, we successfully implemented numerous constraints to enhance the control and movement of the ball.
